MDA National Members companion native app
THE CHALLENGE
Following the success of our development of the MDA National website and their Member Online Services (MOS) secure customer portal, we were invited by MDA National to design and build their first-ever app – a new companion native app for their MOS service.
The app needed to provide quick access to key member information, features and actions and provide personalised content (case studies, webinars and podcasts) all managed within Sitecore.
An additional challenge was to house a Live-Chat feature to connect members in real-time with MDA’s medico-legal experts.
THE SOLUTION
Our approach was to develop a native app to mirror the functionality of the secure MOS environment.
The app leverages content from the Sitecore CMS, so MDA’s content authors are able to work one content instance for multiple channels (content displayed on app via web view), so vastly improving author usability.
We also introduced a set of app-specific new features to help promote the use of the app for new users:
- Notifications: members get a notification when there is a new article / blog / resource
- Live Chat with medico-legal experts
- Emailing of article PDFs
- Xamarin Forms
THE RESULTS
This innovative new app was launched in September 2020 and has had a strong take-up by MDA members with around 700 unique HCP users per day taking advantage of its practical, interactive features.
